Leaders from different Anglican parishes gathered at Evangelical Bible School in Chitungwiza for a 2 day leaders retreat aimed at grooming the young leaders from the Servers Guild.
The Harare Servers Anglican Guild( HSAG) is a guild which unites all the young serving males and females in the Harare diocese Anglican Communion.
With the growing social ailments of drug abuse and anti social activities such as stealing and prostitution, the young leaders were commended to be who they are in the Lord’s House.
One of the guest speakers at the function revealed that personal leadership begins within oneself.
“ In order for you to be a great leader, you need to know your strengths and weaknesses,” one of the guest speakers said.
“As leaders, you need to be self aware of who you are. It’s called personal leadership. Personal leadership begins within yourself before you lead others ,” the speaker said.
As the event focused on grooming young men and women to be responsible leaders, different speakers came and graced the occasion as they spoke and taught the young leaders about visionary leadership and the internal dynamics of the Anglican communion in a move to enlighten them on the roles, they are going to perform in the guild for the year 2025.
As Reverend Muzambi, one of the speakers said that leaders have to ask themselves whats their vision is.
“Vision is a mental image which is vivid and inspiring for future plans ,” he said.
The event was characterized by other games which equipped the young leaders on team building and leadership development.
Altar servers are vital part of the Catholic liturgical ministry. They are vital because altar servers perform symbolic role which is a language of worship.
