Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day that the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Happy New Month! Each month brings new opportunities and new hope.
Even in the midst of suffering and hardship, we can find joy in the Lord and the small victories of every day.
Today, I’d like to share three key ideas for finding joy in the Lord this month.
First, we can find joy in the Lord by giving thanks.
In Psalm 100:4, we read, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.”
When we take a moment to pause and give thanks to God for who He is and for the blessings He has given us, we will find our hearts filled with joy.
We can also find joy in our families, friends, and even in our struggles.
As Paul writes in Romans 5:3-5:
“We also glory in tribulations, knowing tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

Second, we can find joy in the Lord by being generous. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 10:8, “Freely you have received, freely give.”
Serving others brings us joy because it helps us to see the world through God’s eyes.
We can be generous with our time, our resources, and our love. We can serve at a local shelter or volunteer at a soup kitchen.
More so, we can also donate goods or money to a charity of our choice.
Finally, we can find joy in the Lord by trusting Him in all things.
This is often easier said than done, but it is essential if we want to experience true joy this month.
In Proverbs 3:5-6, we read, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
When we come to God with an open heart and an open mind, He will fill us with peace and joy that surpasses all understanding.
This month, let us remember that joy is found in the Lord. Let us give thanks for all that He has given us. Let us be generous and serve others with love.
And let us trust Him in all things, knowing He will never lead us astray. May we find joy in the Lord this month and beyond! Amen.
