Munyaradzi Munodawafa, a distinguished pianist and gospel musician reflects on the faithfulness of God has he marked his birthday.
“Lord, thank you for your grace and mercy that have carried me through every high and low. I wouldn’t be here without you holding me together, even on the days I barely held myself together,” he wrote.
He feels God carried him through his grace and faithfulness for another yet another year added. “Here’s to another year of your faithfulness and new mercies every morning. Amen and happy birthday to me!” he said.
Munodawafa, from an early age has touched many souls in and across Zimbabwe with his great talent and consistence on the gospel arena. He was born and raised in Masvingo and rose to be an icon in the gospel music.
Visually impaired, Munyaradzi started playing the keyboard at the age of 4, at 10, and he released songs that stirred the hearts of many in Zimbabwe. The songs include Mwari vanoona and Shandisa chipo chako. He dominated the TV screen especially Ezomgido programme. He plays the keyboard with a top notch caliber mixing well with his emotionally piercing voice, touching many souls.
Despite his vusual challenge, Munodawafa proved his ability. He is an example of resilience pushing on against odds. After gaining his sight after a successful operation in USA, Munodawafa said, “God did not heal me so I could stop depending on him. He healed so I could see clearly how to serve him better.” He resonates John 9:25 which says, “One thing I know: I was blind, but now I see.”
