Roman Catholic church members converged at Regina Mundi High School for the silver jubilee celebrations of Reverend Bishop Rudolph Nyandoro of the Gweru diocese whose episcopal journey in the church has been described as exemplary.
Born in 1968, Reverend Bishop Nyandoro has dedicated most of his life to Christ as his education journey is rooted in the Roman Catholic Church belief systems which saw him enrol for a minor seminary at Chikwingwizha in 1986.

A holder of a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Pastoral Therapy, Bishop Nyandoro began his episcopal journey in 2017 when he was ordained Bishop of Gokwe before he was appointed Bishop of Gweru in 2020.
To celebrate the Bishop’s milestones in the church, Roman Catholic Church members, including Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga and his wife as well as a colleague, Bishop Raymond Mupandasekwa, gave testimonials on the life of Bishop Nyandoro.
Bishop Raymond Mupandasekwa said, “My uncle is a man of honour. He has worked with great honour. God has done great in his life. He has touched the lives of several of us. We are here to pray for him to continue doing God’s work. Whatever he does in his life is a directive from God almighty. We have been together for many years in the ministry, and he has always stood tall. He is a man who is passionate about the construction of the pastoral centre. The centre is where we mould the people’s spirit to understand the church’s principles. It’s like the parliament.”
Vice President Chiwenga, who donated 200 000 bricks towards the construction of the pastoral centre at the function, said the government is indebted to the good works being done by the Roman Catholic Church.
“This speaks volumes of the works he has done. 25 years of serving the Lord is not a joke. The journey is riddled with hardships and joys like the ones we are enjoying today. Others run away. We celebrate with you today because you have been loyal to the church for the past 25 years. We are celebrating today these 25 years and we say congratulations to you. As the government, we thank Sekuru Nyandoro for the visionary leadership he has. The Catholic church has proved to be a vital cog in completing government programmes which is critical for our operations as we move forward.”
The silver jubilee celebrations for Reverend Bishop Rudolph Nyandoro witnessed several congregants contribute towards the construction of the Pastoral Centre in Chinhoyi.
