Every week is like a new seed that can either flourish or flounder. It’s up to us to decide how we cultivate it.
We can choose to nourish it with our enthusiasm and joy or we can choose to let it dry up with our pessimism and fear.
Let’s begin by looking at Philippians 4:4-7. Paul reminds us that despite our present circumstances, we can always choose joy and peace in our hearts.
He writes: “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
We must remember that joy is not just an emotion but also a decision that we make every day. We can choose to start each week with optimism and hope, no matter what the world throws at us.
We can take our struggles and turn them into fuel for growth. We can use our faith and trust in God to help us stay positive when times are tough.
As the legendary Maya Angelou once said, “Nothing will work unless you do.” We are responsible for our own joy and fulfillment.
No one can make us happy but ourselves. We must be diligent and intentional in our pursuit of joy and peace.
We are entering a new week full of possibilities and opportunities. Let’s all take a moment to reflect on what we are thankful for and how we can strive to find joy in the little things.
Let’s commit to cultivating a garden of joy and peace in our lives each week. This week, let’s start with joy and end with joy!
Let’s start each day with an attitude of thankfulness and end each day with an attitude of gratitude.
Let’s remember that joy is a choice that we make every day and embrace it with enthusiasm!
