In an era plagued by numerous crises, young people are bearing the brunt of the challenges. Drug abuse, suicide, gender-based violence, and teenage pregnancies have left our communities in a state of despair.
As a result, young people are growing up in a hostile and unforgiving world, with limited opportunities for growth and positive engagement.

However, Unique Jewels Creative Arts (UJ), a non-profit organisation led by Pastor Simon Madhoyo from Forward in Faith Ministries International is working tirelessly to provide a haven for young people, helping them find their voice and discover their potential.
The organization mission is to connect young people to one another, schools, Christian churches, communities, and the world through faith in Jesus Christ’s name. As a global Christian movement, it is dedicated to empowering young people and fostering their development within the body of Christ.
Their programs aim to unlock the unique talents and potential of every young person, equipping them to become leaders and change-makers in their communities.
Speaking to Zimgospel Masters, Pastor Madhoyo highlighted the need for UJ’s intervention, stating,
“The world is facing a crisis of unprecedented proportions, with young people being the most affected. Drug and substance abuse, suicide, gender-based violence, and teenage pregnancies are just a few of the issues ravaging our communities, leaving a trail of destruction and despair in their wake.
” I have been working with young people since 1999 and have worked with Scripture Union, Director at Zaoga children’s ministry, Family support unity. UJ is the new born that I run,” he said.
Recently, UJ joined forces with The Salvation Army’s World Day Against Trafficking in Persons Awareness Campaign at CHIEDZA primary school in Mbare.
The organisation sent representatives to introduce UJ and initiate training for a club within the school. Music and dance became UJ’s powerful tools to bring young people together, as Pastor Madhoyo explained,
“Our weapon to bring them together is music and dance, then teach them different things affecting them. Yesterday, we showcased what our trainer has done with the children from the school. I brought a few older teenagers who then boosted the presentation.”
Beyond this event, UJ has been actively involved in public dances, churches, conferences, and weddings, showcasing their dedication to fostering intergenerational connections and empowering young people. Through their dance camps, they have been teaching young people how to dance since the inception of the organisation.
