Young Women Christian Association (YMCA) Midlands Celebrates International Women’s Day with Empowerment Event
Yesterday, the Young Women Christian Association (YMCA) Midlands belatedly marked International Women’s Day in collaboration with YMCA and ZWB (Zimbabwe Women’s Bureau).
The event, held to celebrate and empower women and girls, featured various speakers who discussed the importance of women and girls, as well as the challenges they face.

One of the key topics addressed during the event was the issue of Unpaid Care and Domestic Work, highlighting the significant but often overlooked contributions of women in these areas.
Speakers emphasised the need for recognition and support for women who perform these essential roles within their families and communities.
Another pressing issue discussed was the scourge of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), which continues to affect countless women and girls worldwide.
