Church leaders have been urged to open more opportunities and allow youth to participate in church affairs, a move which was said would keep ministries firm.
This was said by Faith In God Ministries International Pastor Savison Machetu following reports that youth inclusion in church affairs has not been considered and prioritized.

In an interview with ZimGospel Masters, Pastor Machetu said youths are a powerful organ of the body of Christ because of their ability to spearhead critical programmes such as crusades, reach outs and soul winning through peer interactions.
“We cannot talk about the church without youths. In the bible, Jeremiah was chosen at a youth age and Jesus started to appear in the temple of God whilst he was a youth.
“What I strongly believe is that, youths are good fishermen in the sense that they are able to preach to their peers because of the good relations they have with them, it is very easy for youths to preach to their age mates. I want to encourage church leaders to include youths in their programmes,”said Machetu.
He further reprimanded church leaders who have been sidelining the young generation warning that they were shrinking the future of the church.
“Young people are the special group which will take the button stick and continue with the work of God even when we are gone. By not including them in present running of the ministry, we are affecting our future so let’s include them and teach them how to run the church effectively so that they will continue with the business of winning souls,” he added.
The church has so far increased efforts to draw the attention of youths and to win their hearts through youth conferences, music festivals and youth fellowships among others.
