ZIMBABWE Assemblies of God Africa Forward in Faith Ministries International (ZAOGA-FIFMI) has today installed Apostle Joseph Guti as the new president following the death of church founder, Archbishop Ezekiel Guti on July 5.
The late archbishops body touched down at the Robert Gabriel International Airport yesterday from South Africa accompanied by family members including his widow Apostle Eunor Guti and other church leaders.

Addressing mourners during a memorial service at Braeside International Christian Centre soon after arrival from South Africa, Archbishop Eunor said her husband already laid the foundation of the church and left everything organised with three apostles – Dr. Joseph Guti, Mishael Nyambo and Dr. Steve Simukai – selected to lead the church.
“Our father already laid a foundation. He did not leave us disorganised. He left everything organised. He left us the three apostles to take care of the church. Among these three, Apostle Joseph is the father. As the God of Ezekiel was with his servant, he is going to be with these apostles,” she said.
“Our father used to say, I am not the owner of ZAOGA Forward in Faith but only a servant in his (God’s) church. God is the owner of the church, lest somebody says now our father is gone the church is going to die. The church is not going to die because when our father departed on 5 July, he did not depart with God and he spent many years building the foundation. Now upon that foundation we are going to continue building not with our own material but with the building materials he has left us in the books.”
Archbishop Eunor called for unity and love within the church.

“All we need to do is to be united, love one another with the same love of Jesus Christ that we were taught and shown by our father and on top of that we add prayer. Let us rally behind each other in unity. Together we stand,” she said.
“We will be together, work together and continue to do what our father was doing with his sons who are not members of ZAOGA, don’t feel left out, you are also included.”
The church’s new president has been operating as the National Executive Chairperson.
The grand home going celebrations for Archbishop Guti will take place between 3 and 6 August, with the venues to be announced.
This afternoon, thousands of people turned out to welcome the body of the late faith hero, lining up the streets from the airport to Braeside in the church’s colourful regalia.
