The workshop, attended by members of the Zimbabwe UNSCR1325 NAP Steering Committee and key stakeholders, seeks to enhance understanding and collaboration around UNSCR1325 and its significance in promoting women’s participation in peacebuilding and conflict resolution efforts.
This initiative builds upon the dialogue processes conducted by the ZCC in 2023, which aimed to raise awareness of UNSCR1325 in the lead-up to elections. By creating a conducive environment for women’s participation in electoral processes and recognizing women as vital actors in peacebuilding, the ZCC contributes to fostering sustainable peace and stability in Zimbabwe.
Through capacity-building workshops such as this one, the ZCC reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality, peace, and security in Zimbabwe.
By equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and tools necessary to implement UNSCR1325 effectively, the ZCC aims to advance the rights and inclusion of women in all aspects of peace and security decision-making processes.
