The Bulawayo Women Ecumenical Fellowship, Mubatanidzwa/Mabandla has been applauded and celebrated on their act of compassion that brought comfort to forgotten corners of the city.
On Wednesday 17 June 2026, a delegation from the fellowship visited Mlondolozi Maximum Prison to spend time with female inmates. Beyond the handshake and the sermon, they came with practical love: donations of sugar, rice, socks, peanut butter, vaseline, tissue paper, bathing soap, sanitary pads, master diapers, and other essential items.
The visit went deeper than donations. The women shared the Word of God, spoke words of encouragement, and prayed together for strength, healing, and brighter days ahead. For many inmates, it was a reminder that they are not forgotten.
The Bulawayo WEF said “This outreach will now be an annual ministry of accompaniment and solidarity with women behind bars,”.
The prison visit followed another act of service by the same fellowship. On 10 June 2026, City Mabandla, a local ecumenical grouping, donated various essential items to patients at Ingutsheni Central Hospital.
Through both initiatives, the WEF is bearing witness to Christ’s call to serve with humility and compassion.
