Brilliant Saints Theological College conducted its 7th Graduation and Ordination Ceremony in Harare last weekend, where 26 local and regional graduands received accolades.
The event was a day of worship, commissioning and thanksgiving as the College sent out a new generation of ministers equipped for service in the church and in the community.
Presiding over the ceremony the Principal Director and College Chaplain, Dr. David Phiri, implored new graduands to serve despite their statuses in their communities or churches.
“Let me start by congratulating all of you for achieving your goals. As you are going out there, I beseech you to be people of service, not status.”
“A good leader leads by example. He or she takes good care of the flock he or she is leading, not to brag or to put your status on top.”
Rev. Dr. David Phiri also emphasized, persistence in ministry and he reminded the graduands that ministry is not a sprint but a marathon that requires endurance, prayer and faithfulness to the Word.
“You will face opposition, seasons of dryness, and moments of discouragement. But persist. The God who called you is faithful to complete the work He began in you.”
He thanked the Government of Zimbabwe, led by His Excellency Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, for creating an environment where the church can worship in peace and freedom. He urged all graduands to value their calling, to remain humble to the Word of God and to be obedient to the laws of the land as they carry out their mandate.
Meanwhile a special presentation was made by Pastor December, representing Ebenezer Transformation Centre. He taught on the dangers of drug and substance abuse and urged Bishops and Pastors to partner with the Government of Zimbabwe in fighting the pandemic that is destroying families and the youth.
The ceremony was graced by senior leaders from the International Preachers Council of Churches PVO 106/26, to which BSTC is an affiliate. In attendance were, Apostle Magwera, Secretary General, IPCC, Pastor Mario, National Coordinator, IPCC, Apostle Season Public Relations Officer, IPCC and Bishop Dr. Matemai Founder, Global Shepherds Bible Institute and Fire Family International Church.
The Master of Ceremonies, Pastor Jean, presented gifts on behalf of Rev. Dr. Phiri to all graduands. Every graduate received a Bible and a box full of evangelism materials to aid them as they go out to win souls. The gesture underscored the College’s commitment to practical ministry, not just theory.
