August 2026 has been marked by untimely and unexpected departure of our friends and relatives in lake Kariba and along Chivhu road leaving the nation grappling with emotional pain of sending off our beloved ones. It has been a bad sight to see coffins lined up like that, a painful scene in our minds and in Zimbabwean history.
As Zimgospel Masters, we do not have perfect words, but what we know is that God is near those who are heartbroken.
To those who lost their friends and relatives on Lake Kariba….
To those who lost their beloved ones in Chivu who were on their way to worship…
We grieve with you; we are praying that God gives you comfort during this bad terrain you are navigating. We know you are heartbroken because you are walking along a path of deep pain and with so many unanswered questions.
Our beloved ones, were called and we are enduring the excruciating pain.
We are saying:
You are not alone in this grief. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18). We believe God sees every tear and pain experienced.
God’s mercy is new for you each morning. Lamentations 3:22-23, says,” His mercies are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
August will be a month of pain, but God has fresh mercy for you everyday and strength for each day and hope for the future.
We pray that for every mother who is asking ‘why.’, a child who is totally confused and failing to come to terms with the reality of loss, friends who are seeing empty seats in the church and so on. May the God of peace help us accept what we can not change, and heal our internal wounds and live in hope to see again our beloved ones on the day of resurrection.
We are praying for you, Zimgospel Masters is with you in this dark moment.
