Renowned gospel preacher Apostle Peter Mazvidza, known across Zimbabwe for leading powerful interdenominational prayer sessions, has launched a new soul-winning drive called “Ama 2k for Jesus”.
The name “Ama 2k” speaks to the 2000s generation, today’s high school and college youth and Apostle Mazvidza is taking the message straight to them.
Under the new outreach programme, teams of evangelists will enter schools across the country to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ but it will not stop at the altar call, the focus is discipleship, teaching learners good morals, respect, discipline, and purpose.
Speaking regarding the initiative, Apostle Mazvidza said “I have started to invade schools to the Glory of the Lord. It is said catch them young, my generation will not escape Jesus.
“The pulpit must move from church buildings to school halls. If we do not teach our children who they are in Christ, the streets will teach them who they are in drugs. Ama 2k for Jesus is about saving souls and saving futures,” he said
A major pillar of Ama 2k for Jesus is a hard warning against drug and substance abuse. With mutoriro, guka and other drugs destroying young lives, Apostle Mazvidza said that the church cannot afford to stay silent.
The programme has already begun visits in schools around Harare, with learners responding through prayer, questions, and commitments to live clean.
For Apostle Mazvidza, Ama 2k for Jesus is more than an event, it is a mission to win the youth for Christ.
