People have been warned against a situation whereby they might be in church yet they are not in God or having a good relationship with God.
Sharing a message during an exclusive interview with ZimGospel Masters magazine, Apostle Jean Dieu B Niyonzima said some people think that they are in God or have known God better yet they are just church goers because they are not living according to the statutes of God or doing what makes them fit to be called Christians.
“There are two different situations that people should know; one might be in the church but not in God. Yes, it is good to be in church because even the bible says do not stop gathering just like what others do. Being part of the congregation helps in terms of fellowship and encouragement but it should be done in obedience to what God says through his word.
The Bible in the book of James 1:22 (KJV) says that but be the doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves, this word reminds us that when we are preached or when we read the word, we should put it into practice and live according to it,” said Niyonzima.
He further alluded that the bible emphasizes that people should not be conformed to the patterns of this world, on the contrary they should be resembling the good fruits of the spirit which comes by staying in righteousness through the word of God.
“The bible is clear in Romans 12:2 (KJV) when it says; And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. It then shows that the person who stays in God shows the fruits of the spirit which are shown in Galatians 5:22-23 which says But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; against such things there is no law,” he added.
Minister Niyonzima is a preacher of the word of God, a gospel musician and a youth Pastor. He was born in Rwanda and later moved to Zimbabwe where he is currently vigorously advancing the kingdom of God and empowering young people through organizing worship sessions and youth meetings among others.
