Bishop Dr. Joseph Guti has been officially consecrated and ordained the Zimbabwe Assemblies Of God Africa Forward In Faith Ministries International (ZAOGA FIFMI) Presiding Bishop, at an ordination ceremony which took place on Sunday 22 September 2024 at the Ezekiel Guti Convention Centre (AMFCC) in Harare.
The Ordination process was done by the ZAOGA FIFMI Senior Archbishop and the Chief Consecrator Professor Eunor Guti,the wife to the late Archbishop Professor Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti, who was the founder of the Pentecostal movement.
Speaking while taking an oath for the high spiritual office, the Presiding Bishop Dr. Joseph Guti pledged to remain committed and faithful to the work of God while working hand in hand with the church’s leadership.
“I Joseph Guti promise to keep the doctrine, guidance rules and policy of ZAOGA FIFMI.I will be faithful and committed to the work of God and I pledge to remain humble to the board of Bishops and Apostles and the International Executive board and National Council of ZAOGA FIFMI,” said Guti
Speaking at the ordination ceremony, ZAOGA FIFMI Archbishop for the Republic of South Africa Elias Soko said “I would like to emphasize the fact that all of us in ZAOGA FIFMI and the family all over the world have witnessed and accepted the appointment of Apostle Dr. Joseph Guti to lead the church and have also affirmed our trust by acclaiming his appointment. Accordingly, the Bishops of ZAOGA FIFMI together with the International board of Bishops and Apostles passed a resolution today the 22nd of September 2024 that Apostle Joseph Guti be consecrated and ordained as the Presiding Bishop of ZAOGA FIFMI.
“He has been functioning in this high spiritual office in our church for almost two years now and is surrounded by the board of Bishops and Apostles and the Day to Day Advisory Board, both these are spiritual boards over which he must preside and to which he must provide spiritual leadership from time to time. Also, Dr Joseph Guti the Presiding Bishop elect with the board of Bishops is expected to facilitate and oversee the Bishop’s conference,” said Soko.The Chief Consecrator Senior Archbishop Professor Eunor Guti said “The church of ZAOGA FIFMI and the leadership, i now present your Presiding Bishop of ZAOGA FIFMI,” she said.
In their congratulatory messages, Apostles and Bishops of ZAOGA FIFMI have expressed their full support to the Presiding Bishop for the furtherance of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the sustainability of the Ministry.
Apostle Maponga who spoke on behalf of the board of Apostles said “On behalf of the Apostles i want to say congratulations to our Presiding Bishop, you deserve what has happened today. We want to pledge our support to you that as Apostles we are going to be rallying behind you in all that you are going to assign us to do as long it is to fulfil the vision that was given to us. We pledge our loyalty to make sure that you do not struggle to have people to work with when we are around you, be rest assured of our maximum support,” he said.
On behalf of the International Bishops, Bishop Shikwawawa said “We extend our sincere and heartfelt congratulations to our Father Dr. Joseph Guti on his promotion and ascension to the office of Presiding Bishop of ZAOGA FIFMI. We stand ready within the framework of the protocol and administration in place right now to work with you, we will do our best for the furtherance of the gospel and we pledge to work with you,” he said.
Dr. Joseph Guti was first appointed to lead the church in August 2023 when the Founder of the pentecostal movement died. Archbishop Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti passed away on July 5 2023 at the age of 100 years and was buried in Bindura at the mountain of miracles.
