Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has advised believers not to pray against their enemies. He said that if believers wish harm on their enemies, they will have no one to celebrate with them when they succeed.
“If you pray for your enemy to die, who will be there to celebrate you?”
Speaking at the church’s monthly Thanksgiving Service at the Throne of Grace in Ebute-Metta, Adeboye explained that only people with important goals face envy.
He asked the congregation, “Who will celebrate your victories if you pray against your enemies?” He referred to Psalms 23:5, which says that God prepares a table for you in front of your enemies.
Adeboye said, “It doesn’t make sense to pray against your enemy. Instead, we should pray that they change for the better.” He encouraged people not to worry about those who envy them, stating that being great often brings jealousy.
Pastor Adeboye’s message encourages believers to focus on forgiveness and the importance of having a positive outlook on challenges.
