In its season a seed will sprout up. South-Africa based upcoming gospel musician Prince Jordan initially developed music passion in 1999 but he broke into the full time music ministry with a 2024 standard eight-track album titled “Ndinorumbidza”.
A period of two and a half decades of brewery was not a joke, it exposed him to different learning phases and platforms through offering backing vocals to other musicians such as Vuyo Mokoena, polishing writing skills, creating networks and links and singing in the church.
Sharing expressions about his musical journey, Jordan said that his passion and desire for music has been of making sure that the gospel of Jesus Christ prevails very much so that souls get saved and come to the Kingdom of God and that societies get healed from different abnormalities.
“I grew up with a great passion for music. I first discovered that I have a talent in 1999 but I had no thoughts of recording up until 2023 when I challenged myself to start working on projects that would go to the people. So far I have one album which I released this year. My singing mainly focuses on bringing souls to Christ, I can say my music is more of preaching.
“Apart from winning souls, my music is also therapeutic in the sense that it brings emotional support and healing to those who might be experiencing distress and trauma. It also heals those with wounds at heart,” said Jordan.
Speaking about collaborations and live performances, Jordan highlighted that he so far collaborated with Pastor Lawrence Haisa, a scenario which he described as a good stepping stone in the fraternity with so far having performances during church gatherings.
“On this first album I collaborated with Pastor Haisa on four songs. This gave me exposure to learn more skills from a legend especially on how the whole art is done and I want to believe that those skills and experience will help me grow as an upcoming gospel musician, making me a better singer,” he said.
He added that “There is no major difference between working in Zimbabwe and in South Africa. Some of the advantages I can talk about here include a variety of recording studios, low data costs which can even help us as musicians to vigorously push our projects online, “he added.
The 2024 album “Ndinorumbidza” consists of the songs “Matarenda”,”Munenyasha”,”Nhasi taungana”,”Jesu akayenda”,”Jerusarema”,”Ndorumbidza”,”Mweya” and “Kumatenga”.
Jordan grew up in Kariba and later went to Harare for his education. He then moved to South Africa where his music talent fully manifested. Jordan is currently preparing for more projects with other Zimbabwe-based renowned gospel musicians.
