FAITH leaders were challenged to adapt to change in social trends and acquire more ministerial skills to help them effectively deal with 21st century problems of drug abuse and anti-Christ cults such as manjuzu that have become rampant.
This was said by Bishop Noah Parwaringira during the ordination and licensing ceremony of 65 church leaders that was hosted by the Liberty Bible Network at Dutch Reformed Church in Harare.
Speaking at the colourful even, Bishop Parwaringira said that knowledge about laws and policies would help them deal with cases of gender-based violence and drugs.

“As you are going out there, you need to be competent. Be strong to deal with challenges wisely. Also, as leaders you should be relevant. You should have qualities that make you adapt to change. There are some issues that need to be addressed through legal ways, so as pastors you should know how to take a step further apart from a spiritual approach,” he said.
Liberty Bible Network president Apostle Luckson Chari expressed satisfaction at the pace at which their institute has been moving in impacting different ministries through equipping preachers with strong theological training.
He added that being a leader without deep roots in the word of God would be dangerous hence the need for men and women of the clergy to embrace such opportunities.
“We have very challenging and helpful courses at our institute which help mould and equip church leaders with ministerial abilities so that they can partake the work of God effectively.
I want to encourage ministers of the gospel through the words of Paul who says study to show thyself approved,” he said.
Meanwhile, the graduates who were ordained and licensed shared that the development was a step forward and was going to see them becoming influential in ministry.
Bishop Ndumiso Sibanda said he had been longing for such an opportunity.
“You might have the anointing and gift, but ordination and licensing is a reinforcement and will help us do exploits in our ministries,” he said.
The Liberty Bible Network is affiliated to other international institutions including the International Victory Bible College and Friends University in the United States.
