Bulawayo based award-winning gospel musician, who is also a businessman Everton Mlalazi has been appointed as OK Zimbabwe non-executive director.

“Pfugama Unamate” hit maker is a seasoned business leader and strategic implementer, with more than 15 years experience in business development and organisational transformation.

His appointment comes after the retirement of one of the crucial board member Mr Herbert Nkala, who stepped down after 13 years of service, including seven years as board chairman.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Yakha Bricks and Pavers, as well as the founder and Executive Director of RHI Media, having built a reputation for establishing and scaling high-impact enterprises. His corporate experience also includes serving as an executive adviser to the Chief Executive Officer of Sakunda Holdings, where he contributed to strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.

Beyond the corporate arena, Mlalazi is widely recognised in the arts sector as the founder of self-sustaining gospel ensembles The Vine and The Celestial Chorus, projects that have successfully blended creative excellence with sustainable business models.

He is noted for his ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities, drive sustainable expansion and strategically integrate business analytics with finance to reshape competitive landscapes.

At OK Zimbabwe, Mlalazi is expected to add value through his proven capacity to manage complex projects and deliver structured finance solutions, strategic management, design thinking, business transformation, post-merger integration, operational effectiveness and large-scale systems implementation.

Mlalazi holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and Statistics and a Master of Arts in Development Studies from the University of Zimbabwe. He also attained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom.
