Born on 11 November 1984 in Chitungwiza and later moved to Mabvuku in Harare, upcoming gospel musician Pastor Gilbert Morashe discovered his music calling at a tender age and the passion has been stirring his heart and caused him not to rest until he became bold to venture into the music industry in 2023 when he 39 years of age.
His greatest desire as he has been growing up was to see many people finding emotional relief through music and that the word of God would reach as many people as possible.
Speaking about his vision, Morashe said that he produce pieces of music that speak to a person’s soul, that also address everyday life situations that people face.
“Mostly I use my music to encourage people not to give up in life. Sometimes when things get tough some people begin to develop suicidal thoughts as a solution, some start to take drugs of which all these are dangerous to one’s life. Now with all these ills haunting peoples precious lives, my music comes in to inspire hope since it is backed by the word of God, “he said
Morashe further envisioned a brighter 2025 saying that he has already re-strategized his way of doing things in music and polishes his artistic abilities to match the demand of his fanatics.
He highlighted that for the year 2025 he will be moving from a syndrome of releasing single tracks to albums and he is hoping to do more of collaborations and live performances.
“My vision in this year is to release an album and give people the word of God and a powerful melody they deserve and become a unique brand in the gospel music industry.
“In this year I am also having bigger plans to do more live shows inorder to make many people know me,i will also do more collaborations,”he added
Meanwhile, speaking as a Pastor he advised young fathers to work for their families and to preserve the dignity of fatherhood.
“To the young fathers I want to say let us take responsibility and be exemplary to our future generations that marriage is a good,sacred and a God given thing,”he said
Pastor Gilbert Morashe leads the Soul Harvesters and has to date released five single tracks namely “Mutsvene”,”Emmanuel,”Wandisimudza”, “Havanyadzise” and Awesome God.
He so far featured Pastor Madokani on a song titled Awesome God and Mikelly Yakah on a track titled “Wandisimudza”.
