Good morning everyone. Today, we want to talk to you about the importance of patience and how it can affect our lives.
Our scripture for today is James 1:19 which reads, “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.”

We all encounter situations in our lives that require patience. Whether it’s dealing with a difficult situation, waiting for something we’ve been hoping and praying for, or simply trying to show kindness and understanding to others who may not always deserve it.
Patience is a virtue that we should all strive for and seek out in our lives.
The first key idea we want to talk about is the importance of being quick to hear.
When we come across a problem or situation that requires patience, it’s important to stop and listen.
Take a moment to fully understand the issue before making any snap judgments or decisions. We should be taking time to really listen and think about what is being said before responding.
The second key idea we want to talk about is the importance of being slow to speak.
Proverbs 15:28 tells us, “The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.”
We must be careful with our words and be sure to think before we speak. We should strive to use our words wisely and with compassion.
We should never use our words in a way that is damaging or hurtful to others.
The final key idea we want to talk about is the importance of being slow to anger.
It can be difficult to remain patient and calm when we are faced with difficult situations, but it is important to remember that anger will not solve anything.
In Matthew 5:22 Jesus said, “But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment.”
We must remember that patience is a virtue and strive for self-control when difficult situations arise.
Patience is an essential part of life and is something that we should all strive for. As James 1:19 tells us, we should be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
We must remember that patience is a virtue and seek it out in our lives.
May God bless us all with the wisdom and strength to remain patient in difficult times.
Amen.
