This ceremony was attended by institute leaders from various departments.
The guest of honour who is also the seminary’s President and Chancellor, Professor Orphan Chigwida from Gaborone, Botswana, emphasised the importance of ethics for newly ordained students. He urged them to understand the challenges and realities of being a leader, stating,
“Be a pastor who is able to face aspects of life and nurture the church you are representing. Don’t be limited by the place you are in.”
Professor Chigwida emphasised the need for leaders to have a spirit of discernment, comparing religion to science.
“The world always needs proof. This theology we have studied here shall give us and tell us all. As a leader, don’t just believe in everything. If you’re not equipped enough, you cannot discern.”
He also urged the pastors to learn from the old faith leaders to effectively run their churches, concluding with the importance of the three Cs in ministry: calling, college, and commission.
Graduate Kimberly Malowa expressed her gratitude for her time at EL Shaddai Theological Seminary, saying,
“It was a good and wonderful time to be at El Shaddai. I had time to study the Bible and other significant teachings. I have been equipped with so many teachings which I didn’t have before. Many thanks to all the lecturers here.”
Another graduate, John Marizani, said
“First of all, Glory be to God. For He gave us an opportunity to encounter this school which came into our area Tafara Mabvuku. What we have learned all these past months will help us to work well with the community in trying to solve challenges within the community. We will spread the name of El Shaddai Theological Seminary to every individual.”
