THE Young People (YP) ministry at Salvation Army Highfield temple citadel Harare division last Sunday auctioned some goods to raise funds for the church’s junior soldiers rally to be held in Domboshava from October 13 to 18.
One of the event organisers, Nyasha Nyamayaro, said they were seeking to raise funds for disadvantaged children who could not afford to pay for the rally.
“We hosted this fundraising in order to raise funds for the disadvantaged children at this assembly for them to be able to attend rally which is going to be hold on the 13th-18th of October in Chegugudza Primary School in Domboshawa,” he said.

The programme also featured the 58th wedding anniversary celebration for Farai and Margaret Mapondera during which they renewed their vows.
The couple was married in 1965.
“I thank God for this day when we are remembering things that we did 58 years ago. We are growing together in love with my wife, nothing will going to separate us until death,” said Farai.
Gogo Mapondera said it was not easy to reach this far but it was God who directed them and he is still and she was excited because their daughters and sons also followed their footprints.
“I want to give thanks to the Lord for taking us this far. The road wasn’t easy but we are still together. I also excited because even our children also managed follow this path. Glory be to God.”

Meanwhile , Nyamayaro said as young people ministry they honour this great couple since are the advisors and sources of information about the Salvation Army church since their parents were officers wayback.
