Minister Tabeth Chirambadoro, a visually impaired gospel minister has stressed the great need for the disability community to vigorously rise up and change the narrative about disability saying that disability does not mean inability.
Minister Chirambadoro who is a preacher and a gospel musician has revealed that being physically challenged cannot stop one from working for the Lord and doing exploits but it should be a condition that one should use to defy the odds and to prove the world that God is not a respecter of men.
“I am that kind of a person who does not believe in failures but I believe that challenges are there to strengthen us and to motivate us to be very firm in pursuit of our dreams.
“You see I am visually impaired but I preach and I sing music. I know that I am just a vessel of God which carries God’s purpose. My secret is that I just avail myself as a vessel that God can use, to tell you the truth, wherever I go to minister people repent and are getting delivered just through my worship songs.
“Today I boldly say God is faithful and I want to encourage other people with disabilities that they should not look down upon themselves but they should develop a positive mindset that through God they can make it and do extraordinary things,” said Chirambadoro.
Speaking about how she go about her music career, Minister Chirambadoro expressed that she does not write the songs like what others do since she does not have sight but she just go straight into the studio and start to sing
She further said God has blessed her with the gift of hearing songs in the spirit in a way that when she gets into the studio she will just be flowing.
“At first I was worried about how I was going to music since I do not see. I believed that without writing the lyrics, one cannot come up with good songs, to my surprise when I just went to the studio i found myself just flowing.
“This is what happens, when I’m reading the Bible or meditating, sometimes listening to a sermon Holy Spirit can start to deposit a message to sing then I keep on following the leading of the Holy Ghost at the end I will see that a perfect song has been made then I go to the studio,” she added.
Meanwhile, Minister Chirambadoro has encouraged music producers to be welcoming and encouraging to artists with disabilities so that the gifts in them can flourish.
“In the early days of my days In music ministry, it was very difficult for me to be accepted in recording studios because of my condition until a time when God linked me with producer Raphel. Some producers could accept working with me before they had known my condition but after meeting they then denied working with me.
“So, my word to the producers is that please be patient with persons with disabilities. Work with us, nurture us so that we can grow. We have abilities and talents to do great things, do not discriminate us because of our condition,” she added.
Producer Prosper Raphel said “Surely as music producers we have a role to play for the growth of musicians with disabilities. We are just like a bridge for them to crossover so when they come to us as producers, let us assist then and elevate their works with kindness,” he said
