ENTREPRENEUR, wealth creation coach and investor Hilary Kutama Mushamuviri – popularly known as Mr. Billion – last month told a gathering of entrepreneurs in Harare that they should not see politicians as a hindrance to their progress but work hard to establish their brands.
The Wanamari chief executive officer was speaking at a business master class held under the theme, “Creating Own Personal Brand: I am Responsible for my Own Success, no Government, no Person, no Country Can Limit Me, I Myself can Make Myself”.
Mushamuviri said successful business people never saw politicians as a hindrance to their progress in business. “Don’t see politicians as a hindrance to your progress in the same economy where someone else is thriving,” he said.
Mushamuviri said there were two types of economies which business people need to be aware of – the world economy and the spiritual economy. He defined world economy as a financial system that has been set for people by others and the majority of people relied on that economy.
“World economy is the financial system that has been set for us and most of us depend on that economy and the sooner you realise that there’s no government that has been put for you to prosper you, that’s when you will start to see that politicians are not the ones who are responsible for your failures,” he said.
“You need to understand the spirituality of money. If you ignore the spirituality of money, money will ignore you. Every wealthy person is spiritual. There is no millionaire who is not spiritual. The things that you are hearing at church are true yet you are ignoring them,” he said.
“If you study the Bible, Jesus’ stories were more about money. He even told parables about talents. He talked about investments when he gave example he encouraged the principles of growing money.” Mushamuviri, through Wanamari, also founded the premium magazine Billions Business magazine.
