Leaders  lead by example

Speaking to Zimgospel masters, Pastor Tapiwa Dzuda said when leaders build community, it also means that they also get involved with the work because a leader must have proper appreciation by getting into the shoes of those working for him/her.

“The leader must be able to demonstrate the work, know and appreciate what the workers are doing”

When the leader leads by example, the employees are motivated when they look at you appreciating what they are doing.

“If you want to motivate your team, do something because it’s not enough to just speak on things and put on paper. Speech and written things should be translated into action”

“One of the ways to motivate your team is to show them how to get things done and sometimes you are able to give ideas to your business if you cooperate”

He also urged leaders to listen and take action because listening involves giving feedback and getting things done. When listening be on the ground to understand what your team is saying.

“As a leader give feedback on what you have agreed and evaluate what you have done”

“When you listen be on the ground to be able to understand what the person is talking about,” he said

Meanwhile he said in the church setup, it is also important for the pastor to have an appreciation of what is happening in the church and give feedback. No committee should feel neglected be it men’s fellowship, women’s and youth fellowship.
