Posting on facebook, Pastor Venon Tapuwanashe Chamba said by killing yourself you have denied God because Jesus is life. Therefore, it’s the same with denying God.
“Killing yourself is cursing God because the bible says lm the way, the truth and the life then you deny life saying l have decided to terminate my life”
Committing suicide is a sin that can hinder one from entering heaven because it’s like accusing God that you have failed to help me or to solve my situation.
“Some of the people who are committing suicide, one day will be shocked when they are denied access into heaven because you have cursed the holy spirit. He will respond to you that you knew l was the helper, you never knocked on my door seeking help by doing so you cursed me, you mocked me, you will not enter heaven”
Meanwhile he said by committing suicide, you are accusing God of being a helpless God. You are mocking God saying holy spirit you are not a helper; you have failed to help me.
Apostle Dr Joe Daniels, the founder of Gateway church said on social media, even if things get tough don’t think of committing suicide rather have hope with the future because it’s of no use that your problem ends whilst you have passed away.
“Yes things are tough, but this is not a solution. Whatever you are going through have hope with the future. The Lord will strengthen you”
Speaking to Zimgospel masters, Moudy Dengezi from Dzivaresekwa said Nowadays relationship breakdown and traumatic stress are the main causes of suicidal attempts.
“A person may decide to take her/his own life after breaking up with somebody whom he loved so much”
“People who have had traumatic experience such as physical abuse, are at a higher risk of committing suicide”
In Zimbabwe, according to hospital records in March 2024, there has been a staggering 245 percent increase in suicide attempts with 38 cases reported in the first two months of this year alone, a significant rise from 11 cases recorded during the same period in 2023.
