Running under the theme “Ignited to work for God: Worship in Spirit and in Truth” the session attested to be relevant in the wake of a scourge in drug abuse with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Zimbabwe (PAOZ) National Trailblazers Coordinator Reverend Washington Machingura exhorting youths to be fruitful and to be of impact in their communities through good and morals.
“Youths account for a greater percentage of the country’s population so young people we should cause a great impact to our nation through hard-work, obedience and good morals. The future awaits you as young people. We need to stand because Zimbabwe is depending on you as young people.
“Genesis 49:22 talks about Joseph as a fruitful bough. We are encouraged by the word of God to be fruitful. We are like a branch and there are some wars and barriers that we need to break for us to be fruitful, for example all the limitations and barriers that hinder us from becoming fruitful. We need to break barriers of addictions, drug abuse and bad habits so that we get to the next over. We should continue praying for grace and ability for us to jump to the next level.” said Machingura.
Pastor Russell from New Life Church urged young people to develop and maintain hunger for Christ and to diligently seek him.
“Let us all remain hungry for God, staying positive and to continue seeking amid serving him for the Bible says God rewards those who diligently seek him,” he said.
Meanwhile, some of the youths who attended the Kairos Worship expressed their great joy and described the session as a fountain of hope, restoration, spiritual up-lifting and revival.
Angelina Karumbidza said “This is my first time to attend Kairos Worship, the experience was awesome. I did not expect all this but today I realised that as youths we still have the zeal to serve the Lord despite a lot of pressure that we are facing I’m this world.
“Using Ecclesiastes 12, let us remember the Lord in the days of our youths while we have a lot of energy and without many responsibilities that demand all of our attention. I want to challenge other young people to come out and attend church services so that they do not become social media addicts if they remain in their homes idle,” she said.
“I really had great time today at this session. I had enough time to Worship God with all my energy and surely I have been revived and ignited,” he said.
Sharing the experience as the organizer of the event, Pastor Marcus Elijah said “We really had good moments today. This was our 2024 edition and it was well organised we are so excited. The main purpose of this event has always been to bring young people together to worship the Lord and experience a divine moment in the house of the Lord with other saints as this will bring about healing and personal transformation. The event also extends to soul winning which is the greatest mission we were also sent to carry. We will have another Kairos Worship next year and I promise that it will be more uplifting,” he said.
