Fungisai Zvakavapano Mashavave, a Zimbabwean Afro- contemporary musician uses music therapy to help young people against using drugs. Posting on her Facebook page she said she consider herself as a professional music therapist creating safe spaces for young people, empowering them against drugs and substance abuse.

“Ever since I qualified as a registered social worker in my country, l believe I am nolonger just an ordinary music artist. Rather I consider myself a Professional music therapist concerned with community development that targets children and the youth especially with the thrust to create safe spaces that keep them away from drugs and substance misuse”
In another post, she also expresses her heart towards her dance group Komani dance group at Komani farm which is creating a safe and exciting space for young people to enjoy without using drugs.
“My heart goes out to Komani dance group at Komani farm. Amazing work at creating safe spaces for young people as we give them alternatives to keep them away from drugs and substances! This is my dream for Music Therapy in Community Social Work. Let’s encourage young people to have safe fun in safe spaces”
