In a thrilling match held as part of the main 44th Independence celebrations at Murambinda A High School in Murambinda, Manicaland, Dynamos emerged victorious over bitter rivals Highlanders to clinch the 2024 Independence Cup trophy.

The highly anticipated clash between the two football powerhouses saw Dynamos, known as the Glamour Boys, fielding a strong lineup, while Highlanders opted for several fringe players in their starting eleven.
The game kicked off with an intense pace, and it was Dynamos who struck first blood, with Donald Mudadi’s volley finding the back of the net in the second minute of play.
Despite Highlanders launching several attacks in response, they were unable to find a quick equalizer as Dynamos’ defense held firm.
Throughout the match, Dynamos managed to maintain their lead, thwarting any dangerous moves from Highlanders.
Although the Bulawayo giants had their moments, including a close call when Brian Ndlovu’s shot hit the crossbar in the 47th minute, they were unable to find the back of the net.
Despite both sides’ efforts to add to the scoreline, the game ultimately ended in favor of Dynamos, securing them the Independence Cup trophy in a hard-fought victory.
The victory not only adds to Dynamos’ rich history of success but also serves as a fitting celebration of Zimbabwe’s Independence Day.
