FC Platinum currently leads the league table with 10 points, secured through three wins and a draw.
Highlanders closely trail, also boasting 10 points, with only alphabetical order differentiating the two sides. Remarkably, they share an identical goal record, having scored six goals and conceded two.
Despite their early success, FC Platinum’s coach Norman Mapeza remains grounded, emphasizing the need for improvement in various areas.
Mapeza acknowledged the team’s resilience under pressure but highlighted the importance of enhancing midfield creativity for better performance in upcoming matches.
Highlanders, on the other hand, have displayed an impressive attacking prowess, already scoring 25% of the goals they achieved in the previous season.
Bulawayo Chiefs and Simba Bhora complete the top four standings with seven points each.
However, last year’s runners-up, Manica Diamonds, find themselves at the bottom of the table with only one point.
Herentals marginally escape the bottom spot based on goal difference, highlighting the competitive nature of the league early in the season.
