In a powerful sermon, Rev Gwasira, chairperson of the Bindura District Zimbabwe Council of Churches, urged young people to overcome fear and pursue their dreams. Speaking at an all-night event attended by a number of churches under the theme “Fearless”, Rev Gwasira emphasized that fear is a major obstacle to success and that faith in God is the key to overcoming it.
The atmosphere was electric from the start of the all-night event, which ran until 5am. Various speakers did not disappoint, and the praise and worship teams from different churches lived up to expectations. One striking aspect was the unity of purpose shown by the youths as they worshipped God together. The deep sense of camaraderie among them was palpable, creating an exciting and spirit-filled atmosphere.
Rev Gwasira encouraged the youth to develop their talents and not let fear hold them back. “Some people even fear their own shadows,” he said. “But God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of bravery.” He also addressed the issue of unemployment, urging young people to pursue education and not give up on their dreams. “Unemployment is not a ticket to get involved in drugs or rush into marriage,” he said. “You are too beautiful for yourself, don’t waste yourself.”
In addition, Rev Gwasira emphasized the importance of putting God ahead of everything. “Live a life of prayer and constantly read the scriptures,” he urged the youths. “This will guide you in making wise decisions and avoiding harmful behaviors.” He also warned against promiscuity, highlighting its dangers and the negative consequences of bad company. “Be mindful of the company you keep, as it can either build or destroy your life,” he cautioned.
The sermon was a call to action for the youth to rise up and make a difference. “You are the Savior and the shining light of your family,” Rev Gwasira said. “Don’t let fear hold you back. Develop your talents and pursue your dreams.” The all-night event was a resounding success, with many young people in attendance. It was a night of praise, worship, and inspiration, and Rev Gwasira’s sermon was a highlight of the evening. The unity and enthusiasm of the youth in attendance were a testament to the power of faith and the importance of overcoming fear.
