In his speech, TRM Director Abraham Matuka, expressed his organization’s commitment to working with the church in alleviating social ills in societies which include drug abuse, crime and teen pregnancy while revealing that they have already opened a technical training center in Chitungwiza.
“I feel very humbled to meet the church leaders today as we are purring our heads together towards achieving a drug-free society. My organisation is ready to work with the church towards youth education and empowerment, I want to let you know that you can invite us in your churches and we can help each other to educate our young generation.
“Also we recently opened a technical training centre in Chitungwiza which offer training services in areas which include carpentry, welding, motor mechanics, dressmaking and catering among others. All youths from different churches are free to enroll with us at affordable rates. The reason why we launched the centre is that if our young people have something to do, they will not be trapped into these ills,” said Matuka
Pastors who attended the meeting vowed to implement all the ideas raised through the fruitful session.

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe Treasurer Apostle Ndebele said “It is an honor to have such centres that can train our young people on some skills. This meeting has been fruitful and as a church let us send our children there and resource them back into our churches, let us make use of these centres so that we can deal with these societal problems, “said Ndebele
The intensification of youth programmes by the church and youth organisations aims to accommodate the 67.7% of the youths which constitute the Zimbabwe’s population.
