The seminar offered insights and strategies to facilitate open and meaningful conversations within families, fostering trust, understanding and healthy communication between parents and children.
‘’By addressing topics such as drug abuse, sex and sexuality parents gain a better understanding of these issues, enabling them to approach conversations with their children more confidently and effectively. By offering guidance on topics such as setting boundaries, teaching resilience and instilling values, parents are better prepared to guide their children through challenges and help them make wise decisions’’
‘’By providing guidance on raising children with godly values, parents can foster deeper connections with their children and create a loving and supportive family environment. Parents gain insights into raising children who are resilient, grounded in faith and capable of navigating the complexities of the world. This prepares children to face various challenges, make informed choices and maintain their spiritual values as they grow in adulthood,’’ he said
The event was graced by Apostle Sacrifice Chirisa, the founder of wisdom city international ministries and Dr Douglas Mboweni a visionary leader and distinguished scholar. They tackled different issues such as understanding the current environment, nurturing a strong spiritual foundation, addressing drug abuse, approaching sexuality with openness and wisdom, practical strategies for parenting and building a supportive community.
Apostle S.M Chirisa talked about the challenges that parents and children face in today’s world including the prevalence of drug abuse, the complexities of navigating sex and sexuality recognizing the challenges and the need for open and honest conversations, teaching healthy boundaries, promoting respect and instilling values that guide children’s choices regarding their bodies and relationships.
Dr Mboweni, talked about practical strategies and tools for parents to navigate parenting challenges such as setting boundaries, establishing open lines of communication, fostering resilience, character development and promoting healthy decision making skills in children emphasizing on the importance of building a supportive community of like-minded parents who can share experiences, offer encouragement and provide guidance in the journey of raising godly children.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jubilee Banhwa said we came up with this event because we recognized the pressing need for parents and soon-to-be parents to receive guidance and support in navigating the challenges of raising children in today’s world.
