HEAVEN Saints choral group under the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, Budiriro Circuit recently released their debut seven-track album titled Dururai Nyasha.
The outfit was established in 2016 and focused on staging live performances before their decision to record an album’, although they only released one single. Speaking in an interview with ZimGospel Masters, Alan Mbonjana, the group secretary, said the album was a prayer in which they were asking for God’s mercy to come upon the nation and a remembrance of loved ones lost during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This album is a prayer itself where we were asking for God’s mercy to come upon us through our song titled Dururai Nyasha and it is also in remembrance of our beloved relatives who succumbed to COVID-19 through the song titled Hazvigone Kumanikidza Nguva,” he said.
Mbonjana said overall, the album was intended to uplift people’s souls and to give praise to God. “It is also an album to give praise to the Lord Almighty and the uplifting of people’s souls,” he said.
The songs on the new album include Kuna Mwari Zvitaure (hymnal song), Izwi Rashe (hymn), Chakaipa, Mufiri Ishe Wangu, Hazvaigona and Mwari Vakanaka. “We are so happy that people accepted our album. The sales and attendance at the launch were amazing, so we want to thank God for that,” Mbonjana said.
The event was graced by several music outfits that also performed. They included Boys of Thunder, Voice of Integrity, Anointed Voices, Paradise Voice, RCZ Praise Team, Voice of Victory, Mt. Sinai Boys and Ebenezer Church Choir.
